Dennis,

Thank you for reading Barking Window. Your plot sounds perfect. We too benefit from a dense population of earth worms. We are careful to encourage them as they are so good for our soil. I hope your garden, fruit trees, and green house produce much much more than you can consume/can. Happy gardening :)

Best,
Earl

Earl,

It must be Maggie's PC browser - malware (adware to be specific).

Outstanding article! We are about to go full force on our garden as well - starting from scratch. We obtained a property with green lawn (1/2 acre) ridden with moles and just finished planting fruit trees. The "green carpet with bumps" will be converted to garden area with green house. The soil is so RICH with worms! No wonder moles are loving it here. :) So, instead of trying to kill or get rid of them - we will focus on something productive and utilize Masanobu Fukuoka's methods.

Warm Regards,

Dennis.

Maggie - Thank you for reading my article. I am concerned by what you say. I do not run any ads on Barking Window at this time. I may in the future but I don't now. I do not use Round-Up. I do not recommend it. Did you read my article on http://www.barkingwindow.com or on another site?

I agree with what you are saying. As a recap: -Constitutional Law professors that believe our Constitution is evil and should be ignored at will
-Leaders that survive by playing one group against another; the groups don't matter as long as someone is against someone else
-Religious foundations are rapidly changing from those in which this country was originally founded
-Economic beliefs are following the same pattern.

If this country ever split down the political lines, one half would not survive. One half believes the government is good and will save us, so give them more power and they can fix our ills. The other half says the government is the cause of our problems, make them smaller and things will get better.

Half of our citizens require government handouts to survive. Such a large part of this half live that way and plan to continue doing so instead of seeing it as a temporary measure to help themselves. To continue this way, this group has to see government as the answer or they wouldn't make it. They don't care or don't see that "government assistance" is money taken from their neighbors by force. Some (the Social Security retired and those truly disabled) may not have a choice. Others don't have to make the choice because there is no end to the assistance.

The other half of the citizens are the workers making the income to support themselves and everyone else. This half is waking up to just how much is being taken from them and is getting annoyed and more vocal.

Some see the need to own guns to protect themselves, others call police and expect the government to do it. Some are religious folk, others not. Some believe what the nightly news tells them, others look to different sources. Some don't know what the Constitution is, others know all of it.

The point is that the divisions are there and they are stark. Yes, our country was founded on commonly shared ideals and the tolerance of others with differing ideals... as long the differing ideals didn't infringe on the others' ability to live out their own ideals: You want to go to a different church? Fine, just don't try to take my church away; You want to not work for a living? Fine, just don't try to take my earnings to live that way; You don't want to own a gun? Fine, just don't try to take mine away from me.

For some reason, we can no longer tolerate those who hold differing opinions and THAT seems to be the major point of our division; someone with a differing opinion is an adversary instead of just a neighbor with a differing opinion.

Not a bad description, but it leaves out one role of the sheep. They won't openly fight, but when drawn to one side or the other, they can be convinced to occasionally throw rocks or put obstacles in the way of the other side. They will toss a rock then run away to hide behind those on the front lines, failing or refusing to see the bigger picture.

I appreciate the info as one who does not own a gun or rifle, but also thinks how one defends himself or his family is not for government to decide.

In light of an assault on the 2nd Amendment and the self-evident right of personal defense from crooks and government I may have to.
